I'm Richard - Bought Annie Bonnie from member "Mike" last Friday, he warned me the she doesn't like to backup, pirate blood thing. Any suggestions on the learning process to back into a slip better. Did this yesterday, took several trys, prop walk seems to pull clockwise in forward and reverse.

Also survey found "hollow" in aft end of keel, past lead fill, last 12 inches. Is this a fabrication hollow normal to 81 Tartan 37 or a delamination worthy of grind out, fill and re-glass.

Also; dodger was very good at blocking any cooling breeze, what is general opinion of roll up panels in window areas? were in Gulf coast were heat / humidity is a half year thing. Followed by cold / humidity.

Welcome to the forum. Backing a T37 is an adventure at best. I put it in reverse and try to guess where we're going. In the Summer I take the dodger down and just use a bimini. The breeze is too important and what is 80F water going to do.

Aft end of keel is definitely hollow. Cautionary tales of delamination if blocked under the hollow (mine in particular). Nothing serious, but required grind/reglass. Blocking should be under lead/solid area as previously noted, about 15" forward of the trailing edge of the keel.

Thanks for the help, Annie seems a great boat. Had to motor downwind 30 miles in 90F90RH weather, 7 K in 7 K winds to get to home port. Absolutely miserable ownership starting point. Could have sailed but crew had "schedules" to keep. Next trip will surely be better.
