My current Fall Project is rewiring the primary battery wiring systems, all new cables, Blue Seas Sub Panel, 250 A neg bus with 6 lugs, 250A neg buss with 12 #10 screws, Vectron Battery Monitor and shunt, Positive Buss 6 lug. My battery compartment had so many wires running directly to the batteries, I had fused them, but it was always a mess. With new busses, wiring is neat and orderly. Running #1 wire to everything except sub panel. I fused the positive buss with 200A Blue Seas Breaker, my starter cable, inverter, tie into this, as does Sub Panel. Have separate 100A panel fuse block for #6 wiring to Sub Panel. Also replacing my 30 yrs old windless switch with Blue Seas 150A switched breaker. Advice from Marinehowto.com was a big help selecting tools, went with recommended FTZ Lug Crimper Tool, saved a ton buying FTZ Lugs and Shrink Wrap Tubing from Bay State Marine Supply, also purchased many Blue Seas parts from PKY's in Annapolis. I will post some pictures when finished.
