I've also converted the table so it can be lowered and made into the bed. I've done it differently though. I removed the table from the wall and put it on the two legs like this

And also required cutting the other side of the table such that it can be lowered, and doesn't obstruct the access to the seat. I had to cut holes in the floor to allow the legs to go down so much. We like the new table, it is super sturdy, and closer to the seat, so it's more comforatble to work.
