While the Skybird (1976 hull #4) is a project boat, we still have her in the water and ready for a sail at any time.
She just received new shrouds, new furling system, new mainsail, and an exhaust system overhaul.
Currently we are installing a holding tank and fresh water system.
Coming in the next week will be a (new to us) compass and autopilot.
In this picture, we anchored her out in front of the house in 6' of water. My wife's butterfly garden in the foreground, Grassy island (Aka Manmade island), the Maumee river channel, and Bayview Power plant is in the back ground. It was the hottest day of the year so far, but as you can see the clouds were bringing some relief. Normally, we would put the boat "Bow In" but the water levels are about 1.5-2' higher this season due to two very cold winters, and high rainfall amounts this season.
