As a future T37 owner, and not that familiar with sailing performance to windward with a centerboard, are any of the T37 owners in the forum former T33 or T34 owners; and if so, how do the boats compare in regards to windward work?

Thanks,

Stu

Stu, I have sailed on a T-34 but not a 33. The 37 is similar to the 34 but is more stiff she likes to settle in around 20 degrees of heal and stay there unless you're overpowered. She'll point very nicely, not as high as a racing fin, but she'll tack thru 80-85 degrees with sails in good condition and a decent breeze and the board down. She doesn't like real light winds, but she'll move O.K. Her best winds are 10 to 15 knots, above 20, you'll need to throw in a reef and she'll balance right out. Like many of these S&S designs of the seventies, you'll get most of your power from your genoa and your main is for balancing the helm.
