Ahoy there T-37 ship mates. I'd like to introduce myself. I purchased SV Waymaker, hull 144 2 years ago (Feb 2018). This is my 1st post on the forum.

About the boat:
Waymaker is the T-37 "deep keel" model (6.5' draft). She was updated to a cutter rig with detachable inner fore stay and running back stays by the previous owner. I added a Selden gennaker pole, cruising spinnaker (2021) and Colligo marine top down furler. I replaced the headsail with tri-radial dacron 115%(2021) and the main also with tri-radial dacron. The AC electrical system was 100% replaced last year using all Victron Energy components. I'm slowly working through updating the DC system.

About me:
My name is William Kamp. I'm currently a software engineer at Airbnb. I also develop the MX Mariner navigation software as a hobby. So, if you use the app - thank you. In a previous life (10+ years ago) I used to be a technician commissioning Nordhavn yachts delivered to the PNW. You can find me cruising SV Waymaker between Tacoma, WA and Desolation Sound. On occasion you can find me pretending that I know how to race in the Wednesday evening south sound racing series.

Wicked. Welcome. Good time of year to contemplate some day being, oh, 1500 miles south. Got any pictures of your boat?

Welcome to the board, sounds like you got a good T37.

Will, I loved MX Mariner, used it for years and told anyone that would listen about it. I was disappointed after phone and tablet upgrades I could not get the WaveyLine Bahamas chart to load/read. I thought those charts where excellent. Really nice to have another option to the Explorer Charts. If you got any tricks how to read the Bahamas charts, please share, thanks. Walter

There's nothing wrong with some winter sailing but yes, I'm already counting down the days until spring. And for pictures of Waymaker - I post them here: https://www.instagram.com/sv.waymaker/

Walter, thank you for the welcome! Yeah, she's a well loved T37. I've always been drawn to S&S lines. I've had a few power boats and 1 other sail boat but there's something special about this one. She was in really good shape when I bought her and I've been slowly restoring every old system on her each year.

Yeah, WaveyLine was acquired by another company and I never put the leg work in to renew the chart licensing agreement mainly because of the amount of work required to use the new chart format. MX has always been just a hobby and a tool I built for myself and I was actually surprised how many people used it. I do plan on working on MX quite a bit more in a couple years after I complete a couple more milestones refitting the T37 to be ready for extended cruising between here and Alaska.
