I knew this haulout was going to take a while when the boat was pulled in November... today is the day the boat goes back in the water. First haulout in 6 years. The bottom still looked good; the yard couldn't believe the bottom lasted so long: Pettit Trinidad Pro with Irgarol. Great working multi-season paint for S. Florida.

I'll post other images on the end of existing posts for work done while out:
- Strut / shaft / prop replacement (strut 'pink' went pretty deep)
- Rudder rebuilt - bad cracks on leading and trailing edges and around the pintle.
- New 316 stainless pintle bar and delrin 'tophat' style bushing
- Fairing in skeg to hull
- New thru-hulls and seacocks

As said many times before, this work would have been more difficult (and at times frightening) if not for the images and helpful information provided by others on this site.

The old pin stripe was scratched up and the boot stripe was peeling and cracking so off with showing red and white in places, so the last task before launch was two coats of Flag Blue (attached).

More later... I'll relax after passing #2 Red leaving the yard. There's about a half mile of twists and turning day-mark channels getting through mangroves and sandbars from Shell Point Marina to Tampa Bay and a couple spots passing from one channel to another was VERY thin heading in.

Light East wind and 70 degrees in Tampa today. The last cold front has kept highs in the 60s - about 10 degrees below average, so today starts a warm-up. Looking forward to getting home and back to normal.

Very nice boat. How does mounting the radar on the post work for you? I want to add radar this year and have been thinking about mounting options. I would like to see a close up of your mount.

Thanks for the post and pictures. We launched today (Ohio / Lake Erie) this weekend. Great to be back in the water.

Thanks
Kevin

The stern-mounted post would be an easy option since it doesn't require going up (or laying down) the mast. I have a close-up image that showed the name of the manufacturer:
http://www.questusmarine.com/

The old Raymarine drew too much power and I think the low height was a bit closer to the helmman's head than is recommended. However, modern radar has much lower power emission, but I wonder how the mast and low height would affect the radar image.

I need to pull the mast anyway (to replace the centerboard pennant tube, so I thought that would be a good time to mount new radar. If I buy it ahead of time I could put it on this post temporarily and try it out. The new radar is pretty amazing.
The first image shows the gimbled dome mount pretty well...
