Cheating, I know, but while I'd like to have kept right on going, the first 400 miles at an average temp in the low 40's and below freezing in the mornings - I got work to do and this was the better part of valor. Freighter Sluisgracht bound for St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. I ran the numbers, time and work. I don't want to work, but it made more sense to ship it when the numbers were run. Looks like the prop ate quite a bit of the Micron 66 off the epoxy barrier coat at the fairing. Might've been a little green when she splashed.

Nothing like cold when on the water.

Nothing like those hours before sunrise at below freezing - well dressed - out of sight of land. And nothing like watching a crescent moon sinking into the water and puddling off Buzzard's Bay. Never seen that one before. The reflection looked like a puddle under a melting moon. Bizarre.

Just above freezing and high humidity is most likely the coldest feeling temperatures. Which is why you see Texans wearing parkas at 45 degrees. Trying to get warm from the bone chilling temperature.

Subzero wind chill this morning where the boat was on the dock 2 weeks ago . . . maybe 2.5 weeks. The hell with that. After the delivery in freezing temps (overnight) it jumped back up into the 70's. The last hurrah.
