sad
Anyone know of this boat?

Sad story...they almost made it! This story shows the importance of having an anchor ready to deploy in a moments notice...something that will bite right away.

I got this link through the Yahoo Tartansailing email this morning. After a lot of emailing back and forth regarding T-37 projects last year we met the crew of Sulima in La Cruz, Mexico in May 2011. A delightful couple with a well outfitted boat. Very well organised boat. We had drinks in Sulima's cockpit a couple times. They lived in Southern Calif. before they took off cruising. This is so sad. I'm thankful that they were ok but it looks like Sulima is a total loss.

Very sad, I'm just glad everyone survived without physical injury.

Shocked

I'll never forget to put a figure eight in the end of the sheet again. Beware the warp.

Really chewed up the trailing edge of the keel.

I think that next time I have Betty Lou out of the water, I will install some line cutters. That and keep the anchor unpinned in the roller ready to deploy and have the mainsail at the ready.
