Wish us luck and good sailing! We are leaving early tomorrow morning and heading 200 NM to Big Pine Key. Taking two weeks off work so we will bounce around the Keys a little down there while watching for a good weather window to head back north, likely stopping at Little Shark River to break up the probable beat back across Florida Bay. By a long shot, the biggest "adventure" we will have embarked on thus far. Will post up some pics! Thanks to all advice received on this board helping us learn the systems, maintenance, etc of Holiday. Zach and Lindy

Good luck Zach. I'm envious. Going to be in the teens here tomorrow on Cape Cod.

Your upcoming trip has kindled lots of memories: returning from Vietnam in 1969 I went to work as mate on a sport fishing boat out of Marathon, Florida. The skipper ( Cpt Hal Scharp) sort of specialised in fishing the "back-country" aka Florida Bay. Not as dramatic as the Gulf Stream fishing for the blue water pelagic fish, but a lot more comfortable for the clients when the northers were blowing. And the fishing was great, with at least a dozen different species waiting for the fish box. So, if you're so inclined, don't hesitate to "wet a line" for the snappers, groupers, mackerel, trout (weakfish) & etc. The exploring out in the Content Keys is pretty neet as well. Enjoy

Back home in a few days. Sitting at anchor in Pelican Bay at Cayo Costa next to Boca Grande waiting out a front. A lot of pictures and video from the trip so far up on Facebook. https://m.facebook.com/zach.duncan.982?ref=bookmark

Maybe that link will get you there or just search for me if not.
