It's been a long winter for me this year and I am waiting for warmer days here on the Chesapeake so I can enjoy a nice sunset on the hook again!

That is the best looking T37 deck I have ever seen. And I have seen a good many of them.

Taken today at 1pm in my front yard. Yep, that's a bluebonnet wildflower. I haven't taken a picture of the single indian paintbrushes because they are alongside the road and it's not a good place to stop and take pictures.

Actually, I'm having my boat hauled early next month for a bottom job so we'll be ready for summer.

Are blue bonnets a spring time flower in Texas? We don't have them in the "Old Dominion"

Yeah, Bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas. They grow prolifically along the state roads due mainly to Lady Bird Johnson, Lyndon Johnson's wife. She led an effort to beautify not just Texas' highways but nationwide highways. She was instrumental in getting the Highway Beautification Act passed. You should see local flowers along your roads in the Chesapeake area as a part of the act.

So when you visit Texas in the springtime, you'll notice the highways are not mowed at all. This lets the native plants bloom, seed and die off to rebloom next year.

To get an idea of Texas roadways, google images of "wildflowers of Texas"

Not Funny as I look out at the snow. My boat is sitting close to Lake Huron and I understand under 4 feet of snow.

Two winters ago we had 12 feet total during the one winter season. Looking forward to retiring and heading south for the winter Cheers
