Mounted but not wired in yet. I'm doing the "battery forward" wiring setup.

Looks like a nice heavy-duty windlass with good manual back up. You will never regret adding a windlass, once I installed and used mine, I couldn't help but ask "why didn't you do this before???"

The older we get, the more we need assistance hauling up a 35 pound anchor and all of that chain/rode not to mention not getting all of that muck on your hands to wash off Cheers

That is a great looking windlass. What kind is it? Did you do any deck reinforcement, or just use a substantial backing plate?

It's a Lofrans 700 watt Dorado. It's actually a bit undersized for the boat. However, being a weekend warrior I'm not too concerned. I will take care to use it properly, i.e. motor up to the anchor, not break it out with the windlass, etc. and expect to perform well for me.

I'm running 100' of 5/16 HT chain and 250' of 9/16 3 strand spliced onto the chain with a 35lb. Manson Supreme as my hook. My controls will be forward as well as a separate windlass battery.

Two stainless bars for supports; both lightly bedded with sikaflex 291

I love to hang out on the hook...just not the dirty work of getting underway. I have this on the "If I win the lottery" list. Otherwise, it waits its turn behind the higher priority work.
