A helicopter snapped our pic as we began our crossing from Miami to the Berry Islands last January. A nice memory of our last voyage in the south. The west Lake Erie waters won't be quite as clear next summer !

Todd,
My jib and main halyards, outhaul and reef lines are all managed at the mast. I have three reef blocks on the side of the boom, which have some adjustability fore - aft, that lead the lines forward to the winch on the boom and then to a cleat.

My main originally had two reef points. I added the third for a deep reef, and I've used it. It's effective.

Hi Doug,
I have all lines leading to cockpit to clutches to winch. Two internal reef lines, would like to rig another, perhaps cheek block external on boom, and lead to cockpit ?

My sailmaker has a lot of experience, will ask his input also. Want to ssil offshore, am concerned about versitility of dsil plan. Have new dacron cruising sails 8.4 oz msin double reef, 7.4 oz 125 Genoa. Feel I need solent stay and staysail, and strom trisail. At least third reef.

Todd,

Search the forum here, there's lots of great advice regarding sail options and also inner forestays.
