Greetings, I am the proud owner of the Sailboat, Epiphysis........its original name was Tembe.....she was built in 1976 for Charlie Britton, the owner and founder of Tartan Marine. He took a Tartan 37 and modified it....the mast is eight feet higher....has two spreaders and the keel is fixed at 6'9". He built it to race in the SORC...and did for two years before bringing it back to Ohio. John Watt bought it and after transporting her to Ashtabula, had it finished below by one of Tartan's workers. the v berth still has the original pipe births! I have rafted off a 37 and the deck is layed out exactly the same except for more winches.......the cabin is the same! she sails wonderfully and I still race her.......and do well.......I have it rigged for solo and short handed sailing!

Congrats!
Sounds like you're continuing the legacy of Charlie Britton.......
Are you keeping the pipe berths or is that a future project?

Now that's still just one of the T37C's with a fin keel like ours, right? I know in some docs they'll call us a T38. But in '76 they weren't making two models I don't think. Just the S&S design with the multiple keel types, right?

So we've found Hull #1! Glad you came by.
