I have a contract contengent on survey to buy hull # 108, 1978 TARTAN 37c. I have questions about the center board functions and sailing tips. I hope to sail her from Ft.Lauderdale to Charleston, SC next weekend. Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.

JHC,
Welcome and you've picked a great boat. I must admit though, sailing your new-to-you boat 30 hours offshore after only a week of ownership, maybe a bit risky for a 33 year old boat that you may not be familiar with. Of course, if you are heading up the ICW, then that should be a lot less risky and it will give you time to be familiar with your new boat.
