Hello,

Another new Tartan 37 owner joining the forum. I'm Scott Pearson and the boat is Tranquility (hull #279). She is now moored in Mattapoisett Harbor on Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts. She was previously in Orient Point, NY (Long Island).

We bought Tranquility late last summer and refinished almost the entire exterior (stripped bottom to glass, awlgripped hull, rebedded/cleaned up stanchions, all brightwork down to bare wood and cetol'd (taking 25 years of varnish off of all of the teak seating elements was a great winter project), fixed up the deck a bit and did a bunch of other cosmetic and functional items. She now looks great!

I'm now onto systems and accessories so I'll have lots of questions for the group. I hope you don't mind and I hope I can share some of the things I've learned recently.

Thanks for having this site!

-Scott

That's what we're here for. Welcome aboard. Nice to see folks finding the forum. (everyone except the MI sailors apparently... Rolling Eyes ) Also nice to hear about the T37s getting careful overhauls as they change owners. The legacy will surely live on.

Welcome aboard Scott. I've been a member of the association for a number of years but only recently active on this forum myself. I once belonged to the Sailnet forum but like this one better. There aren't as many users but the conversations don't stray off to personal issues like 2 or 3-boat rendevous quite as often.

I have Hull #315 which is a KC. We've owned Celtic Lady ("Keltic") since 1996 and she has been in the Great Lakes almost the entire time. We saild out of Muskegon, MI which is about half way up the shoreline of Michigan on the west shoreline. We've replaced or repaired many items so can help on a few things perhaps. All of us continue to learn.

Mark
