Hello all!

I have a 1984 Tartan 37, "Inception", and the main sheet is binding. I think it's the sheave and I read one post that said you have to de-mast to change it and another said it could be done in place. So, does anyone know the answer? Does anyone know who the mast manufacturer was for Tartan 37 at in 1984 or close to that time?

Thanks, Mitch

Here's a picture of my masthead before I painted. The arrows show the pins for the sheaves. My 37 is 1981 with what I believe is a Hallspars mast. I removed mine and they showed no wear. Im not sure about taking them out with the mast up but if they would clear the back stay and fore stay you could slide them out. I am sure that I would probably drop them down the mast.

My 1979, the boom has Schaffer Marine, I always thought that they made the spars. My mast head does differ for the one above. Might depend if the boat is made in Ohio or NC.
