Hello current T37 owners, I would like to say hello to everyone since I am new to the site. I am 24 months away from purchasing another S/V and a T37 is one of the top contenders. Since I live in Florida most of my sailing will be Florida coastal sailing with trips to the Bahamas and the Caribbean, one question I have to the owners is how do they handle in tight quarters such as around the marinas and also how do they back?
A few other boats that are in the running are Pearson365 , Cabo Rico 38 , Gozzard 36 .... I have read that the Full Keel boats (Cabo) are very hard to maneuver in tight quarters do to the Keel and Rudder set up, but are very hardy sea worthy boats. I have read the story of Tigger and how she Circumnavigated which is very nice to know how sea worthy the T37 are.
So any input you have on the T37 or of any of the other boats I would love to hear from ya!!!
Thanks James

I don't think that the T-37 is that much different than any other single screw boat with a prop shaft that "angles
down" (ie that is not aligned with the apparent flow of the fluid (water) in which it is operating. One therefore experiences "p" factor, wherein the blade of the prop develops more thrust on one side than the other. The boat wants to "creep" to port in reverse. You can use this to your advantage at times.
My opinion about full length keel boats being better sea boats is that it's not the the case: The best boats that I've ever sailed in boisterous blue water are Sparkman Stevens designed Swans (deep draft fin keels):hands down. Our T-37's are moderately priced somewhat close seconds.

Thanks for the reply and yes you are right I think about Full Keels are not the only blue water boats for sure, If I do decide on the T37 I like the shallow keel / centerboard configuration it opens a lot of options.
Are the shallow draft T37s a bolt on keel?

As much as I'd have liked to acquire the deep keel T37 for its' sea handling, the keel centerboard boat is the way to go on the eastern seaboard/Bahamas. The two feet + difference in draft opens up a bunch of opportunities.
