Hello all!, I'm located just north of New Orleans on Lake Ponchartrain, while we had a couple of unseasonable nights with simi-hard freeze's, we should be back into the mid 60's ~ low 70's shortly, which is fortuitous considering that this coming Monday I'm having a Survey and sea trial of what hopefully will be our T37!!! So excited!!!

wish us luck!
Louis

Exciting! Keep us informed.
I'm assuming you're looking at this one:
http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1979/Ta ... G3R3PnnSHY

Geographically, it's the only one close to New Orleans listed on YW. She has a lot of nice upgrades that normally would cost a fair amount like the stainless ports, new-ish engine (2011), stainless dorade vents aft, mid-ship boarding ladder, newer windlass, removable inner forestay, rigid boom vang, additional storage shelving down below and a decent sail inventory. Sweet. I see that it may have had an older windlass at one time that had a larger footprint, if so, make sure the new one is reinforced properly and that the deck core is sealed well.
Have fun Cheers

Thanks, and yes that's her! We were planning on waiting for the thaw in spring, and visiting all of the Great lakes fresh water and North Eastern T37's. But this one popped up and looked really good, the previous owners apparently loved their boat (imagine that?) So we're crossing our fingers that the survey and sea trial goes well.

P.S. I love this site, and learned so much without having to ask a single question.

Louis

Cool.
We're on the Chesapeake, so when you venture this way, give us a shout. The Bay here probably has the largest concentration of T-37's, so you'll have lots of company!

Thanks for the invite, I cant wait to make a trip that way!! Cheers

We have another T37 here on lake Ponchartrain(which I discovered off of this website's owners list) so when we decided that it was gonna be a T37 for us,
I emailed the other boats owner, and he graciously invited me for a sail trip, with his wife they were instrumental in sealing the deal for us.

Nice boat, and a good price for the way she's set up. We paid the same price for Betty Lou when we bought her 5 years ago. She was great condition, but with older electronics and sails. I'm sure you will love the new boat!

If he's not on the forum, please make a pitch. The place gets more and more handy as the number of owners increases!
