I was thinking today of eliminating the L shape in the port setee, and mounting the dickinson low there with the exhaust to the dorade. Nice central location and pretty easy removal of the seat. What thinkest thou?

Dickinson recommends a 5 - 6 foot straight run of stovepipe for best performance. Add to that the cap fixture height. The Newport furnace is just under 20" tall. That puts 1 - 2 feet of stack above the coach top just forward of the mainsheet traveller. You might get some interference there when on a starboard tack.

Not wanting to have a stack poking up out of my coach top is the main reason I ruled out a pot-burner for Betty Lou, and went with a forced air furnace.
