Doug, With the tile job. I did remove the fiddles and I had to manufacture teak trim for the corners so the edge of the tile was covered (click on the photos for a larger shot). The fiddles are no problem, all you need to do once removed is to deepen the rabbet on the inside edge using a table saw or a router. The difference will be the thickness of the tile and adhesive being layed then re-install using the same holes. Apply a little caulk under the lip of the fiddles to keep spills at bay and your good to go.
Of course you'll need to remove the sink as well and the teak trim around the openings need to come off and re-manufacture for the new thickness of the countertop, but that's no big deal. You'll be surprised that Tartan used regular trim nails, not even galvanized, for these trim pieces.
