The exact fit tracks for the sliding cabinets is EPCO EZ Glide Plastic sliding door track. The website is epcohardware.com and the parts you want are #214 (lower track) or #2214 (upper track) the color is mohogany brown. They will give you the name of their local distributor. Pay attention to how they were fastened. On my boat, the top rails were put in with contact cement, the bottom with a couple of countersunk screws.

Well, I'm biting the bullet and bought the caning to do the sliding galley doors, this should make a nice visual difference and lighten things up a bit as well. Thanks for the input, I'll send photos of the project when finished.

I've decided to tackle this project. I've ordered the caning and have set up the template for routing out the opening. The next step is to fabricate the teak door pulls and go to work. I'll send photos of the process, so people can get the job done easier. Tom

We have cane in our galley sliding cupboards that came with the boat. We wanted the same in our salon, so we cut out an insert and used epoxy to glue a piece of cane to the underside. The doors slide fine and they have been on for 2 years now, with constant use as we live on our boat traveling the Caribbean.

The tile job wasn't hard at all, I scuffed up the formica top with 30 grit paper and used a good quality adhesive....ten years later it still looks good....of course all that extra weight of the tile and stainless portlights puts us out of racing and into the cruising category!!! Very Happy

Tortuga,
Can you elaborate on your tile installation? I'm replacing my countertop this winter, and am looking at a number of options. If you layed the tile over the existing top, did you raise your fiddles accordingly or was that not necesary?

Doug
