Here's a picture of our new custom made cabinway doors; made by a wood working friend of ours. We used the original teak moldings to mount the doors. There's enough room to mount the storm boards behind them if wanted. Using take apart hinges they can be taken off and stored when not in use.

Hi Mike, we have doors the PO had built and installed and I like the ease and simplicity. We can latch them open and still sit comfortable next to them with our backs to the bulkhead. We have screens and solid inserts, in the attached photo we have just one screen in. Your doors look like they have a plexiglass insert - is it permanent? Our installation is currently flawed in that the main hatch does not pull back to cover the top edge of the doors, so if the dodger is down or the rain is horizontal a small amount of water can get in. There are two nylon stops that keep the hatch from coming back farther and I am wondering if you modified or removed them in some way.
Thanks for the pix and info!

Anybody know of a source for companionway doors "premade"? I'd make tapered vertical stiles to fit in the exIsting rabbits on each side of the companionway to which the factory made doors would be hinged. It would be nice to have doors during those months when one is not "cruising".

My favorite place to shop (Just before Defender and way way before Waste Marine):

This place is where I got my Peek A Boo shades to fit the Beckson ports but they made doors too.
