Doug,
I used the Minwax Helm'sman spar urethane. It holds up exceptionally well below decks and imparts an amber glow to the teak. When we bought the boat years ago, she had the Watco oil finish on her and it was rather dark and dingy looking. We sanded down the teak, cleaned it and put 3 to 4 coats of the urethane.

Wow Tom, that interior looks sweet,an inspiration. Will probably use mine with no headliner his season to check for leaks etc Presently busy ensuring everything below water is OK. 3 thru-hulls replaced 1 to go. Bruce.

Dude...

That looks amazing. And now I am jealous. When I eventually get to the point where I am learning carpentry skills, where can I go to get teak? I know it sounds like a dumb question...but I've never looked for it before, so I am not sure who would have it. Thanks!

Again...that looks amazing. Well played, sir. Well played.

Scott,
I usually buy teak in rough board form and plane it down and shape it myself; however, that tongue and groove teak that I installed was some stuff I have had for a long time and decided to use it to trim out the cabin trunk side. The teak crown moulding is something I milled myself, so trying to find it could be difficult without having a millwork shop custom shape it for you.
Tom

I was kind of hoping for the magical teak store that sold exactly what I need for "rock bottom prices!"... No luck for me.

Still amazed at how great yours looks.

^^^ So true... it's hard to imagine Tortuga' Lie and High Flight are remotely related. Not much OEM on that boat. Mad props as always Tom.

All, thanks for the compliments........now my wife might not complain so much when I want to work on the boat next! Of course, I usually tell her that it keeps me out of trouble.......she never buys that one, especially if the project costs real $$$
