My 1982 Tartan 37 CB has two horizontal ss plates bolted horizontally to the bottom of the keel. They are either side of the CB slot at the forward end. What are they for? I've not seen them on any other 37's, nor does the factory know what their purpose is. Any ideas???

Dwight,
These plates are part of the hinge assembly that holds the centerboard in place. This plate should have three bolts per side and is "L" shaped. About 3" up on th everticle leg, there's a pivot pin that goes through the centerboard and screws into the opposite plate.

If you PM me with your e-mail, I can send you a picture. I have not been able to post a picture on this site in a while.......not sure if this site has reached it's max...or is it me Question
