I am thinking of adding a reverse cycle heatpump/A.C. to Tortuga's Lie down the road when I finish my "to-do" list (May be awhile!). For those that already have A/C, where do you have the unit? There are several spots that might work, but the one that seems pretty central is the pilot berth. If I were to convert the berth to storage and dedicate the forward end of the berth to the A/C unit, would this be "ideal"? Is this too much head for the pump to overcome for proper cooling? Thoughts anyone? Question

This is exactly what the PO did on my boat and it works ok. He put a new intake and exhaust over near it.

PO had AC installed. compressor is behind the water heater with electical on the back of the berth behind the nav station. Blower is under the v berth so all lines needed to be run foward, 2 vents, one into main cabin starboard side hanging locker and one vent in V berth. Seems to work fine except for the blower noise when trying to get to sleep. But summer in Texas something has to be sacrificed. I can take pictures if like.
