I have had my boat so long, I do not recall if the stock flush through hull fittings had a layer of fiberglass over them on the outside of the hull. Mine had a couple layers of glass over them on the outside and I think I did that when I redid the bottom, but I do not recall. I was preparing a pictorial on replacing them (I just did this) for this site and want to know. Are they covered or is the flush mount bare on the outside of the stock hull?

I would love to see pictures of this. I plan to replace my head thru hull in Feb when I haul the boat.

From looking at it in the water last summer it is definitely flush to the hull, with no visible flange. Looks as if it has been faired in.

When I get the valve off I may decide to leave it in, but as I have bought the new thru hull I will probably just change it out.

I dove mine a few weeks back and they are all flush from my inspection.

I was at my boat this AM. The following were glassed flush: head intake/sink drain, both cockpit drains, and galley sink drain. The head overboard was not (don't know if is original or not), and of course the engine intake has a strainer.
