SV/heron,
Yes, very happy with the set up and yes, the coaming is the attachment point for the lower snaps. The backstay slot worked out perfectly and surprisingly, no leaks when it rains, I thought for sure that there were going to be drips coming down the backstay, but it's been dry. In the future, I may build a hard dodger and keep the fabric bimini and connector panel.

Thanks. And interested to hear how the hard dodger project goes.

A follow up question on the design. I am making the templates now for the side panels. The aft panels are finished. It looks as if those on your enclosure start at the forward end outside of the coaming and then transition to the top? Or I am wrong on that? I am thinking about keeping the snaps on the outside all the way around, though it might make things tricky around the winch. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

My snaps stay on the outside all the way around but run on the inside of the primary winches. Obviously, I need to un-snap that panel to work the winches if the panels are down when sailing which we will do on occasion if it gets snotty and cold out.

I got a full enclosure after about freezing going to the Bahamas a few years ago. My bimini and solar frame is full width, extending above lifeline stanchions. The jib sheets align with the door panel opening.
