We found there are a few circuit breakers we frequently needed to reach from the cockpit: cabin lights (when coming aboard in the dark), nav lights (at sunset), foredeck light (when it's time to anchor in the dark), and the windlass.
So we installed a box on the companionway bulkhead in the galley with those four circuit breakers and the propane control. Toggle switch below the breakers changes the nav lights from sailing (masthead tricolor) to motoring (steaming light + hull nav lights).
