Well my wife and I broke down and purchased a nice bed for the V Berth; custom made. The company is
Handcraft Mattress in Fort Lauderdale. It was an expensive purchase and one not made looking at pictures on the internet.... used my flight points to fly down to look at, and lay on it, in the showroom. Fell in love with one of their models, 6inch muti layered latex. Since there is storage underneath it will be hinged to fold back. They give you template instructions to produce a final product that contours to the hull so it's tapered on the sides. They also use waterproof material on the bottom and sides. It's a well made mattress, the last I'll ever buy for the boat. The cushions in our V berth made sleeping there MOST unpleasant. They also custom make the sheets if that's what you want. We are going to have them custom make a waterproof mattress pad... as for the sheets.. we're buying those from a company called,,, Quahog Bedding Company....
https://www.quahogbaybedding.com/ This company makes a fitted pull tight sheet,,, they call it their "Cinchfit". They also make mattress pads, comforters and duvets,,,, all adjustable AND the prices are pretty good.
I never thought I would spend that kind of money for this but when sleeping on the boat is like sleeping in my bed at home,,,,, it's worth it.
