Hi all, I modified my V berth cushions to make it a foldable 1 piece vis the 3, I added a sort of hinge out of material so that it can fold up out of the way to get at the storage underneath. Should help with the sleeping and make the acess ok. I will put on a padded top layer over the cushion so that we shouldn't feel the hinge part. Sorry for the poor pictures......

Richard

Neat mod. Good thinking. Cheers

Looks like a real professional job, I'm thinking of doing that but with a lateral fold or 'hinge' to ease picking up just the front section enough for access. I saw a similar idea executed on another boat, the entire area under the v-berth cushion was sectioned off and open to storage, covered by a single layer of ply that was hinged forward nearest the bow. The owner could lift the entire mattress and expose all the storage compartments, wooden brackets and legs at each corner held the panel open.
