The Admiral and I bought a 50 foot reel of surface mount leds from Super Bright Led. We used part of the reel to replace the light in the head by placeing a strip over the top of the medicine cabinet. The Admiral says it is nice to be able to see BOTH sides of her face in the mirror.
We took out the V-berth spot lights and added the strip lighting under the shelves.

We added a switch on the nav station panel to turn the light on and off. It's a black push button with a red light up ring. It can be wired several ways but we have it wired so that the ring is lit up when the light is off.
