What is the biggest size of RIB anyone has been able to place in front of their mast upside done and still have room to get to the anchor. Can't do davit's due to wind vane.

It was not a RIB, but I often carried my 9ft inflatable upside down on my two year cruise through Central America. Hoisted it on the spin halyard and it worked fine.

I'm looking at RIBs and plan to pull the switch very soon, so interested in this question. I'm close to getting the Mercury 300, Dynamic in Hyphlon, what model you looking at?

Not sure yet, thought I would try to figure how a 10' or bigger would work when stored up front,

I use a Walker Bay 8 with the inflatable skirt that makes it a bit longer and it fits very nicely on the foredeck with room to spare. It comes on and off with the spinnaker halyard unbelievably easily - I can do it alone. The added bonus is I have the sail rig for it and it is easy to set up and sail around the anchorage. I am big so I just lay down athwart-ships when sailing and the plastic boat gives in all the right places to be comfortable. Try not to do a lot of tacking though - ha! I use a 2hp outboard but with the inflatable skirt I think it is rated for 4. Might be too slow if you want to get to town quick.

10' RIB was tight, I went down to 9', only draw back is the 9' does not plane as easily with four, in fact it wont plane with 2 adults and two young children, even with a 9.8 4stroke and high thrust prop, next I will try a foil
