Spent a good long while getting corroded little bolts off this frame, a good while longer getting corroded bulb out of fixture, and then still longer testing to see why new bulb wouldn't work, before I figured out that one of the contacts had corroded away. This is the starboard nav light located in the anchor chain locker on my boat. Is it standard equipment on T37's? Will I find a suitable replacement next trip to West Marine or will I need to get something specific from Tartan? Any suggestions? I have tricolor on top of mast, so no need to switch to LED since only use when engine is running. Thanks for any info. Zach

From Defender:

Less than $50 to replace both lights.

Thanks Wayne. Will I need to change out all the hardware, or will I just be able to take the one part I need and use it with the existing equipment and keep the rest for spares? Zach

You should be able to use parts off the new one BUT I would replace it completely anyway. And take the opportunity to recaulk the light fixture. Yeah, it's in the anchor locker but that might not be why it rusted so badly. May have water coming in around the light fixture. The water then runs down in the anchor locker and out and looks just like the anchor line is drying out when it's the fixture letting water in.

You have to buy them in pairs so why not go ahead and replace both? Just a thought.

Will do. Was definitely going to buy the pair anyway. Was just wondering if holes would match up and fixtures the same size so I don't have to drill new holes or modify anything. If they match up, will probably just replace all as you were thinking.

I bought the aftermarket ones made by "Seachoice". The quality seemed ok and the design was exactly the same. I was afraid of the Chinese SS. So I pulled the original ones, stainless was perfect, buffed them up. Used the lens, bulbs and holders from the Seachoice and reinstall them in the original SS body. Everything was a exact fit, very happy. I see the Seachoice for $36, they have a blue and yellow packaging, bet they're the same.

I'm purchasing the LED versions on defender for the front navigation lights.

Does anyone have a good LED replacement for the stern light? Is this one I could just replace the bulb with a white LED?

I'm pretty sure this is the one I bought, but check the dimensions to be sure. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015X ... UTF8&psc=1

Thanks ordered one today. It replaces a Perkins 71 Festoon bulb which I believe is correct. They also had a 10% discount so it was like 7 bucks.

I'm also looking at an all around light for anchoring any suggestions here? I need to go up the mast to replace the bulb up top to LED, but I'm also looking for an anchor light I could hang/mount lower that was maybe battery powered.
