Hello All,

We are going to sand, fare, and paint topsides on #027. The paint is old and cracked, although the surface looks fine, hoping for a light sanding/faring exercise, and are looking for personal experience, and recommendations of:

1. What filler for faring imperfections?
2. What primer to use?
3. What paint? One part, two part, etc. (We are going to roll&tip)
4. How long did it take for each step? If it takes to long can I leave the boat for a couple weeks in between which steps? It will be myself & my gal.
5. How much primer?
6. How much paint?
7. What products for rollers, and brushes, or foam? How many?
8. Boat is near St Michaels, MD. What store for supplies is recommended?

Thanks in advance,

Roark & Sheri

Hi,can't answer your specific questions, but, mine was painted some years ago by Mark Lenox of Suldersville MD. He did the work at Swan Creek marina. I believe this is not too far from you, maybe you could pay him a visit and 'pick his brain',maybe over a beer !! He also peeled and refinished my bottom [no comments please] This was in the ownership of the PO.
Good luck, let us know how the project goes, regards Bruce.

Thanks. I'll check that out. I will post results (good or bad), while we are doing the job.

Stay tuned... :-)
