Hi
I noticed a very small crack on the stemhead where the headstay attaches to it. I am thinking of having a new stemhead made and I wonder if anybody has done this before or if you have any thoughts about this before I start the process of finding a machine shop to make it.
thanks
bill

I have not started boat-work for the season but have thought of an SS plate with a SS band around the edge. That would also provide a better surface for anchor rollers.

I just had a new SS stemhead cast when the original was damaged hitting a seawall during a storm. I had the marina find the shop but I think it was thru White Water Marine in Port Huron, MI. They were able to obtain the original blueprints or specs so that everything fit correctly and the bow chainplate was on the right angle to align with the mast head.

Their website is: http://www.whitewatermarineinc.com/
