Presently my mast is out and the centerboard line guide pipe is removed. The fitting in the bilge to which the rubber hose attatches does NOT inspire confidence !!!! Is this fitting a through hull which can be replaced [with c/board out] or is it a built in tube which will be a nightmare to replace. Frustrating Trying to make all my below water fittings foolproof !
Thanks for any tips on this, regards Bruce.

Bruce,
This is a tube that is heavily glassed in through the top of the centerboard trunk and yes, it would be a real pain to replace if needed. I am sure that you either have or planned to replace the rubber hose while the assembly is out. Make sure you change out the hose clamps too and double them up.

Thanks Tom, I was hoping not to hear that. ! Here is what I have to deal with, its only just long enough for one hose clamp. I checked the threads and they are good but the pipe is very thin.Maybe I will screw on a bronze coupling then glass around it for strength. 20+ yrs ago the boat almost sunk when this hose leaked, luckily it was in a very shallow slip at low tide and it sat on the bottom !! The water line is still visible in some hard to access spots, about 9'' above the cabin sole.It makes me nervous. Regards Bruce.
