Cockpit duck boards

I just spent today sanding down and putting a coat of Sikkens on my cockpit seat duckboards. Has anyone fastened these besides the standard wood cleat arrangement? I worry that one day I'll step on one and it will slide out from under me. That would suck Rant

Here's another question......is the T-37 the only model that had these? I really don't recall seeing these on any other boat, Tartan or otherwise.

That has been a little of a concern to me also --- not that it might slip out from under me when stepping on it, but in very heavy seas. On the other hand, we have had the toerail almost in the water a number of times and once had some violent rolling action when we took the main down in 7' seas to enter a narrow channel (Lake Michigan waves, not ocean rollers) and the seats stayed where they were supposed to. I've never been pooped but wondered if we ever were, if the duck boards would wash right up off the seats.
