We have an old Freedom 7 (750w) that we never hooked up on the inverter side. With the recent electrical upgrade, I'd like to hook it up. But the manual is fuzzy on one thing.
It's rated for 15A which is fine for underway. We don't have much demand. Shore power is 30A, so is the 15A breaker going to throw if it's in pass through? I would hope that the breaker manages only the inverter's output and not the pass through. I'd like to put the inverter between the shorepower and the AC panel and just refrain from drawing over 15A when on battery. (Knowing that the breaker will trip if we do... no big)

Any tips/warnings welcome.

This sounds like a good question to post on the SSCA discussion board. I have a dedicated inverter, so my situation is different.

I think I'll just spend a bit and get this to be safe. Much cheaper than frying the inverter.
