Ok, I was wonder how Tartan got their two tone color between the deck and the non skid on deck and cabin. I was think that they did two gel coats of different colors but couldn't figure out how they would do it. I have white wearing off to a tan under coat. Is the white actually paint and not gel coat and was paint used at the factory during original construction? The white in some areas looks like gel coat with no under coat of tan.

Steve, I dont have an answer to this question. my boat sure looks like gel coat with two colors. Not sure how this is done in manufacture. I believe its gelcoat because a scratch will show the same color for a little depth before it gets to the resin. I have a question relating to this though: does interlux have a stock color to come close to the beige and white that I can use to touch up or paint the cockpit floor or a deck stain with? carl s

Carl,
I'm not sure about the color match for Interlux. Most of my beige non-skid gel coat is in good condition except where a PO brushed white epoxy over un-needed holes in the top of coming, it is the white that no longer takes a shine and is rubbing off on the front of the cabin. Some of my lazarette hatches have what looks like paint on them.
