is there a source for the t37 logo on the aft end of the top side stripes? i can make one with some dark blue adhesive vinyl and an enlarged logo print but time is running short for winter projects.

If you find a source for the vinyl T37 logo, please make it a separate post; I have wondered about this as well.

I'm sure Tartan can provide a T-37 logo in electronic format that can be taken to any vinyl sign shop to be printed. If they don't have it with the 37 in it, the sign shop should be able to add it. Best is to request either a Adobe Illustrator file (.ai) or an Encapsulated PostScript file (.eps) .

In fact, I'll call in the morning and see if I can get it as I want to print up some crew shirts and would like the logo as well.

Cheers,

If you get that, please upload the file or email it to me. That would be good to have here on the forum. Also if they have a font file to share, that would be stellar.

I guess as a backup plan, a little photoshop work could have this up to snuff. I took it nearly dead on. Straighten, remove the white, make a mask of the green, trim a couple imperfections on the edge.

(full size) Actually bigger than life pxl for pxl. (on my 19") It's about 300dpi which is more than a vinyl cutter would need.

Tag me if anyone needs me to make that up.

Joe Palmer used to sell these thru his Classic Tartan store, but since he's no longer in business, I don't know if anyone else has 'em. A sign shop will probably the cheapest anyway.....

OK, I got the Logo file from Tartan and added the 37 that matches the hull logo on SOLARE. Only issue is the type doesn't match Down2theC's photo.
Seeing how SOLARE has been awlgriped, I'm pretty sure the font is not the original, if Down2theC's is the original I can redraw the font based on his photo.

Here's the Hull logo as a JPEG (you'll need to provide your sign shop the .AI file for cutting vinyl lettering)

Just PM me with your email address and I'll send you the .AI files as they cannot be posted to the board.

Glenn,
email me the file and I'll post it up here for posterity. If it's too big for email I'll give you an FTP account to use. (PM to follow with my email address.)

As for the 37, the offsets and flares are a classic Irish/Gaelic type face. I'll take the full size file and use it as a size guage for a "37" from the picture.

Thanks for the leg work on the logo!

I was unable to find any type font that came remotely close to the original used for the 37, so I redrew it. It's not 100% perfect, but it's close.

Here's Glenn's AI file. The board was being fussy for him.

Looks good. What's the source of that one Jay?

If anyone's going to the sign shop, they'll need the .ai file that I posted for Glenn. That one uses lines to create shapes and curves that expand as needed. This means that you'll always have a smooth line. With a JPG, the cutter could see the bitmapping and give you a ragged edge on the angles and curves. Depends on the "resolution" of the cutter and the resolution of the JPG.
