Any suggestions for what slider or slug to use on my main sail where the battens put on pressure and bind in the track? I have thought that just a longer slide, like the head of the sail has would work or I could just add another slider so there would be two per batton. No, I dont want to go to a Harken or Scheiffer track and start over. Thanks, Mawky ser295

Carl,

I just got a new main and I have full battens. I was thinking of going with a track system. My sailmaker suggested using batten cars. He installed Sailman batten cars and they work great!

I can even get the main down, with a little giggling, off the wind.

Hauling in the main off the wind makes you giggle? Snicker

What has worked well for me this summer was to silicone spray the slides maybe every other week. I think the track held some grit and dust that needed to be moved out. Batten cars w. track would be the answer but pretty low on the budget list of projects. Carl
