Hi, I had to take of the old centerboard hose to be able to thread the new pennant back in. I have a in-mast sail mast, so I assume my setup is different. Is the centerboard hole over the waterline so I can use a more flexible hose? It is impossible to fit the hose at the picture which is semi-flexible. It started to split. I have tried hit and soap water.

That hose is below the waterline. If you search around on this forum, you'll find a bunch of old posts where people talk about how a failure in that hose can sink the boat. Many people suggest replacing it once in a while as preventive maintenance.

Your photo looks like the standard setup for the mast step and the hose.

I found the easiest way to install the new hose was to remove the stainless pipe that runs up the mast from the mast step, attach the hose to it, and then re-install the pipe while fitting the new hose onto the centerboard trunk thru-hull. Of course you can only do it this way if the mast is out of the boat.

Mast stays in! 😂
Every time I was feeding the pennant through it would hit the second pipe and stop, the mast pipe is much lower. I'm now working on cutting of a small section with hacksaw. I can't get the hose in with heat and soapy water at the current setup

I just saw this today. Looks like an answer to getting the hose on easier.
