I recently discovered my drain to the refrigerator / Icebox is plugged. Mad I have tried a wire in the 3/4" tube, Air from a compressor and a long flexible plastic piece but cannot remove the blockage. I tried to remove the inboard panel of teak to get at the drain but it appears to be glued or varnished in place.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Can I use Liquid Plumber?

How does on get at the underside of the icebox?

I wouldn't use Drano or Liquid Plumber for the tubing is vinyl and could easily be affected by the chemicals.
My boat has a 6" x 10" access panel that was cut into the face of the icebox on the aft side. I don't think this is original, but a P.O. may have done it. They carved out the foam insulation to expose the drain nipple. There is a hose clamp that attaches the hose to the drain, and a "T" fitting where the two drain hoses meet. Your stoppage could be at that "T" fitting.

Well This weekend I tried a piece of stainless aviation 'twisted' wire and an electric drill but found something solid in the hose. Eventually I went trough the side of the hose, so I now have to replace the hose. This means I have to remove the wood side panel to the ice box /refrigerator. Has anyone removed the side panels or the ice box? If so can you explain how you did it as I do not wish to damage the woodwork too much.

If you have the ability, please take some pics when you get in there.

I will document it with full photos as I am also doing right now on our new holding tank. I will post the photos in the early spring as we are in the process of getting things put away for winter. We are in the Great White North so must prepare.

Thanks. We've got a week left before we deliver to the yard. So I feel your pain.

Good luck with the fix.
