Hi Everyone. I am replacing Miranda's batteries and am thinking about getting AGM batteries for the two house (GRP31), starter (GRP27) and windless (GRP27) batteries. I would appreciate any input from you about the following:
1. Miranda has a Westerbeke 33 engine. In the past I used marine starting batteries from West Marine, but understand that AGM batteries can be used for both cranking and house needs. Do AGM batteries work well as starting batteries, assuming they are properly charged with a shore powered battery charger?
2. What AGM batteries do you recommend or not. I am thinking about the Duracell Marine AGM batteries available from Sam's Club, which are about half the price of similar batteries from West Marine. They get good reviews on the Sam's club website, but I have no experience with Duracell Marine batteries.
Thanks for your help.
