I am getting ready to rig my boat and wanted to ask anyone if they have used the MM 86550 MB mast boot from Rig Rite. Supposedly it is the one for my mast, MM 8655 based on the Hall spar specs. I also had to cut my spreader tips/clamps off of my spreaders to ship the mast down to Florida with the boat. According to Rig Rite the spreader is an SP 512. I have tried to ask Rig Rite if they provide the clamps but they don't seem interested in correspondence or customer service. I will have to fabricate my own if I don't hear from them. Any thoughts? By the time I got a tang from Rig Rite, we had sold the farm and moved to the Virgin Islands. Luckily, my son lived right down the road. Backordered for months and months. And no response. I did buy the rubber mast collar from them. It fit nicely, tight and was great, but at $250.00 compared to what they used to go for . . .

Thanks Maineiac. I never got a response from Rig Rite and I had tried numerous times. I ended up fabricating my own spreader tips and I have given up on hearing about the mast boot. I don't want to pull the rig again and wanted to fit a good mast boot. The $250.00 was a bit much but it seemed the best way to go. I guess I will get the universal one from Fawcett marine or some other source. I don't think I will deal with Rig Rite again.
