I wish I’d kept the rudder and skeg off so I can get in there. Is there any way, besides skinny brush on stick to saturate that area? I sealed and foamed the skeg. I tried a spray dispenser, but too viscous (micron 66) in the centerboard area. No go. I’ll try some thinning, but that kinda defeats things.

I turn the rudder to one side, paint it and let it dry. Then do the same the other way. As for critters growing in the void of the skeg? I have let them spend their short lives living there if they choose. They seem to do no damage except to dirty the ground when they dry up at the next haul.

The only void is up at the pintle plate - enough room to drop the pintle plate if ever necessary. I closed in the back and top inside of the skeg with glass after foaming it.
