so the photos come in bass ackwards and upside down. The first one's just filling in various extra holes (cigarette lighter/charger I'd say) in the cockpit cubbies. Took me a couple minutes of staring to figure out the big hole forward on the port side was for the bilge blower. Redoing the engine shutoff hole on that side as well. A little cracked around the edges.
2nd photos is the rudder fairings. 32" a side, 6" wide. I learned a long time ago that fiberglass is ugly until you get down to finishing it. There's 2 pieces in there 32" long and 6" wide. I just have to get rid of everything else. I screwed a couple pieces of cheap thin plywood to the wooden table, elevated on one edge slightly with some cheap wood battens stacked 2 high. Taped down some wax paper, laid out 1' wide 17 oz. biax, used what I needed, loaded it with West System, squeeged it out, let it kick and did it again. 2 layers of biax backed with chop.
I'll put the 407 to it thinly, build up a little at the top of the skeg with 407 (easy to figure out with a straightedge held against the skeg), level it, screw the fairing on with stainless screws, use flathead & countersink. Because of the inaccessability with the rudder on, I'll do all this at the last minute so I can slop some Micron 66 in there in good shape.
