Photos of overhead. Green glass, not much for backing. Trying to do this off a pad and ain't getting it right. The nice looking stainless is the turning block at the mast
base. Otherwise, very little backing anywhere else.

When you click the photo everything orients correctly. The three previous photos are first the traveler bolt holes starboard. The caulk is the entire area covered by a tiny "backing plate."
Next are the bolts under the starboard companionway winch, cleat and jam cleats.
Bottom is port middeck forward turning blocks to the mast. Not a single fender washer anywhere. Some of the bolts didn't have washers. No locknuts. Mostly no lock washers. Haven't decided how I'm putting this all back together, what hardware, etc.

By the way: your teak grab rails are the very first photo. They are held in place by wood screws through finish washers from below. I looked, thought "yeah, no," but decided they seem tough enough. Thought about replacing them with stainless, but then I'd have to take all the head overhead panel apart and all the furniture associated with that. Fuck that. JUST DON'T USE THOSE TEAK GRABRAILS FOR TIE DOWNS FOR ANYTHING. I think they'll serve fine as long as they're left alone that way and aren't subject to huge loads or shock loads. My Bristol and Pearson both had interior/exterior grabrails that were through bolted and the nut on the inside with a bung plug finish in and out. A little tougher than just a wood screw.

That does not look like the same material as my #373. Yours looks like some kind of roving backer. Do you think someone might have added something?

This is hull #216. It's plain old green glass. It's roving, so I don't know what you mean by roving backer. I don't know how many layers, but there's balsa above this, then more glass, then gelcoat. Same up in the chain locker. Even the areas where I installed the Newfounds and took out some of the plywood were green roving. The hull, too. Green glass. Remember, this was 1979 . . . bit of an oil crisis, etc. But your boat can't be much more than 82 or 83. Maybe they just switched resin sources. Some might throw some chop over the roving, though.
