So my old plumbing on my galley sink broke off so I am working on replacing it. I have two questions. The old stuff was PVC the new stuff is PP Polypropylene. Will this make any diffrence? Should I use PVC? Second the old one has all those flex point hoses on it to connect it to each other see attach image. The new one is a solid, stiff assembly would this be an issue?

What does your sink blumbing look like? Attach photos!

This is ours (attached).

In the process of cleaning out that storage area upon purchase, we found our plumbing needing some attention. Our below the water line rubber hose (connected to the seacock) was completely dry-rotted. It crumbled upon removing it. Be sure to check yours.

Good Luck-

I used the heavier PVC—I really do not like that flimsy stuff they use on sink drains in houses—probably OK in a house, but not where there is movement of stuff hitting it when you bounce and tack. Remember to double clamp fittings below the water line. And a problem with this arrangement in all T37s is that if you do not close the sink through hull fitting when on a port tack in lumpy seas, you are likely going to pump water up out of the outboard sink and all over the place. I believe that Tartan sent these out of the factory with exhaust hose where fittings were below the waterline. Expensive stuff, but not a bad idea. I especially recommend exhaust hose for the cockpit scupper hoses.

exhaust hose up to a T fitting between sinks. I agree with closing seacock while out. We both know to bow to the sink god to open the seacock before using sink while out.
